Gizmo5 Acquired by Google

If you are familiar with skype, chances are you also have an account with gizmo5 or if none there's not much difference between the two.

Gizmo5 functions like skype, an online phone company but Gizmo5 is based on protocols and compared to skype, it doesn't have lot's of users. For like $6 a month, residential Gizmo5 users got 300 outbound calling minutes a month anywhere in the United States, unlimited incoming calls to their computers just like how skype functions or even home phones.

Now that Google already acquired Gitmo5, imagine how the next telephony system could work. This is interesting. With google's ambitious android phones and lot's of google apps, it won't be long that google would become another phone carrier the soonest. This is interesting, I will try to look for more related stories and will post it here.

Finally - Windows 7

Microsoft released on October 22 their ever awaited OS, Windows 7. Since it's beta release in January, the RC (Release Candidate) and RTM (Release to Manufacturing) versions, the OS finally hit the shelves. It even surpassed the Harry Potter record for pre-order sales in UK. No doubt this is the most anticipated OS ever produced by Microsoft.

Here's the link to some of the Windows 7 Videos to explore about its new features. I haven't got my own but I had first hand experience using the product in my office. We are utilizing it's Windows XP mode to run our work applicatons/programs. As expected, it fared well enough compared to Windows XP. Applications run faster and smoothly. One thing catched my attention, after I installed of the programs we are using on our daily task, the marker on tray keeps showing some warnings. I found out that it's running on low memory. Compared to the Windows XP system, we've been using it just fine without any errors or warnings. This only concludes that if you plan on upgrading your OS to Windows 7 with the same hardware, be generous enough to add enough RAM, not just the recommended, in order to get optimum performance of the OS.

There are a lot more things to discover from Windows 7. It is best to take steps in preparing yourself about the OS by visiting the Microsoft.com site to see more highlights of the system. Free Domain Redirection

I've been practicing for a while with my free domain from co.cc and free hosting at 0fees.net. I was so excited practicing because I am not sure how to use hosting. I am still tying to learn from the hosting site's tutorial and get my memory bank with hosting 101. I am quite interested in getting one as I've mentioned before in my previous blog but I don't want to waste my money for the monthly fee just to slack off especially that my budget is too tight.

So anyways, i got the domain and am glad with it. Then I experimented with the free hosting and how to work with it. I got a blank piece of paper in my right brain with the details on the left. I can't seem to figure out at first how to put it into writing, I mean to realize it. Am glad there's tutorial for it plus the internet, so I did actually search for it. I wanted more ideas. Okay, so I now know how to add the domain. Next thing to do would be the template and pages. It all went fine, until suddenly, the page got redirected to this mybookface thing. Wutdaf***! I waited for the domain to be activated and after a while it would only redirect to another URL which I don't own. Okay, I got nothing to lose anyway, so I deleted it and created another free domain and waited for it again to be active. Again, it does work fine but after adding few posts, it got redirected again! Aaahh, am pissed! This is taking much of my time and effort. I dunno what more to do. Somebody help me! ne1?

Entrecard Update!

Tsktsk....this is not a welcome move for me, others I guess would bear the amount but for me I think I have to accept those ads. It would be a "wait and see" for now and I'd rather pay for advertising in Adgitize. I read a lot of good news about their advertising. You pay $14 a month and you reap more than that. I just don't have idea how it works yet, this would be a new assignment.

Wrath of Tropical Storm Ketsana

Most of the areas in Metro Manila are ravaged by flood caused by the Tropical Storm Ondoy, international codename Ketsana. As of today, the entire Metro Manila sank for the first time and the houses are submerged or engulfed in floodwater.

According to weather specialist Mario Palafox, the amount of rainfall recorded from 8 a.m. Saturday to 8a.m. Sunday at the PAGASA Synoptic Station at the Science Garden in Quezon City exceeded the previous record of 334.5 mm rainfall documented on June 7, 1967. Palafox said that in a span of six hours, the amount of rainfall on Saturday, was at 341.3 mm, was comparable whole day rainfall recorded in the past. At around nine hours, the record reached 410.6 mm. This record already exceeds that of 1967.

Ondoy's Presence in Other Areas

Cebu City

In Cebu City, the central part of the Philippines, strong winds and occassinal rainshowers can be felt and people are advised to refrain from going out specially those living in shanties, to avoid untoward incidents.

The City Government of Cebu already gave around Php 1.7 million financial aid. There are also rescuers on standby just in case they're needed but they're not yet sent by the mayor . The mayor argued that the seat of the national government is in Manila and that they can take care of the victims. They might be needing the rescuers if something happens in Cebu, according a newspaper report in Sun Star Cebu.

Davao City

The City Government of Davao will offer relief assistance and donate food to the flood victims in Manila. Their mayor, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will set aside their budget which is intended for his weekly television show "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" (From the People, For the People). "We will donate the money for the celebration of Gikan sa Masa to the flood victims. Dili ko ganahan mag-party, ihatag na lang nato ang kwarta sa Luzon (I'm not in the mood to party, just give that amount to Luzon)," Duterte said.

State of Calamity

President Arroyo opens Palace for "Ondoy" operations. Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro said Arroyo declared a state of calamity in Metro Manila and other storm-hit provinces, allowing officials to utilize emergency funds for relief and rescue. The NDCC has declared a state of national calamity in the NCR, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.

Damage

An estimated PhP 109-million (around US$2.3 million) worth of infrastructure and an estimated PhP212,500 crops are damaged. The number of casualties reached more than 100 and around 32 are missing.

Ondoy swamped entire towns, collapsed bridges, engulfed or submerged an estimated 50,000 houses and establishments and shut down Manila's airport for several hours. Almost 300,000 individuals are affected. Monday classes are suspended in elementary and secondary levels.

Samsung M8920 12MP Phone

I know I've been away for almost a month but it's always good to be back. Today, I'm blogging about the Samsung 12MP phone. When it comes to the race of high end phones offering higher megapixels, it's always a headstart for me to look for Sony-Ericsson models. I've blogged about their Satio phone a while back in June so just click on the link in Satio for more details.

It's a good idea that Sony is there to force competition. Because of this, all other big cellphone companies are gearing up to create one of their own to stay at least with the competition based on this criteria. This is promising to those who are looking for the best out of their penny especially these days when finances are too tight. Or at least to those who are into more pixels for a camera, and lets not forget the other high end features to come with it, otherwise it'd be a flop and face early extinction.

I'm featuring the upcoming Samsung 12MP phone which visibly shows the 3x zoom feature of the camera. This would be the successor of the Samsung M8910 Pixon.

There's not much of the specs online so I guess we'll have to wait a little while but it should come sooner. Since February, it was already rumored to be available sometime around the Q3 of this year.

For now, let's be contented of these leaked photo from the web and hope that the high-end specs from it's predecessor come with it like EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi and knowing Samsung, I assumed HD Video recording would come handy.

Domain Testing

I had been contemplating on getting a domain. I tried purchasing online but it won't accept my card, dunno why. I don't have funds left as well on my paypal account. I had it transferred to my savings. So I thought of getting a free domain for testing. I am excited to start and I am curious how it works.

I researched online and found out that there's this website called co.cc which is offering free domain and got my free hosting application also approved from 0fees.net. I have already tried the new domain wiredpnoy.co.cc earlier and I am pleased to see the result. It's the same layout with my blogspot address though but at least I can have a personalized domain.

I am sorry if there would be interruptions [feeling pro eh :)] within the next few days but that's only for upto 2days as per the website instructions.

Are you able to drop EC's today, or can you even login?

I was doing my usual routine, reading online news, checking for updates, emails, etc. and dropping EC? Wait, I've been online for more than 2hrs. and almost finished with the other things but my entrecard is not showing up yet? What happened? Was there announced downtime?

Sorry folks if can't reciprocate today, it seems entrecard won't cooperate. I'll try again later, just hoping I could still keep up reciprocating your drops. I usually drop during the last 2-4 hrs. thinking that by then, those who intend to drop should be already in my inbox.

What's your take on iPhone 3GS?

This iPhone baby plays 1080p video. Yea, that's 1080p. The guys at endgadget mobile had their chance to experiment on the phone. Check here for the phone specifications. There's a video clip link and link to the chinese forum posts claiming that the phone fared on 30Mbps at 1080p.

We always suspected the iPhone 3GS was capable of 1080p HD video playback, and now we've got proof. Although Apple lists the iPhone 3Gs's max video playback res at just 640x480, iLounge linked to Chinese forum post claiming that the 3GS could do 30Mbps 1080p playback earlier today -- and when we saw that the only thing we needed to do to test it out was download the free FileAid app, well, you know how we've just spent the last 20 minutes. We tested out a bunch of HD trailers from Apple's QuickTime trailer site, some videos we shot with a Lumix DMC-GH1 and some other random videos with general success, but there were some major hiccups: high bitrate 720p video off the GH1 stuttered during playback, and loading the Avatar trailer consistently crashed the phone's audio driver until we restarted. We tried the same thing on an iPhone 3G and just got error messages at almost every resolution, so it seems like it's a combination of the 3GS's extra horsepower and different built-in software at work here -- software that's clearly not ready for prime-time, as evidenced by the bugs. We're hoping Apple is polishing that up and getting ready to unlock this functionality, since it'd be sweet to just plug into an HDTV and play video.

So what's with 1080p anyway? Check it out here. Imagine your phone playing a movie like you're watching from HDTV. This is just great and handy specially if you're on a trek, camping maybe, far from home and yet you can enjoy watching great videos. You can only wish you'd get strong signal. Introducing The New Slim PS3

Sony finally made official news of a brand new version of its PlayStation 3 console during a game convention in Germany on Tuesday. It’s a slim type playstation and is expected to hit the shelves on September 1 in North America and Europe. The price stag is slated at 299 dollars and euros respectively.

The new Playstation features slim specs. It is 33% smaller, 36% lighter with 34% less power consumption. It is slim but big in space, boasting 120GB HDD.

With the current 80GB PS3 in the market with the same tag, it’s definitely worth the wait ‘til September when the new Slim PS3 hits the shelves. Click here to check out some hi-res shots from Yahoo.

I was searching for top webhosts and I chance upon this site showing the top 10 on the lists.

There's another one though, but it's not showing the same results except for the four which seems to be relevant on their standing. Here's the list from the other site:

There are other results though but I don't think these results are reliable. How they come up with the list or their criteria for the selection is definitely of their own judgment. The list helps though to trim down the choices. It is still better to go to each of their websites to double check. Whoever posted the second one seems to be not doing his/her assignment. As of posting date, the price for fast cow is a mistake. I just visited the fatcow's site and it seems the first one is right.

So before deciding on which to host, make sure you do good on your research, I guess me too. Am hoping to be able to finally settle on a domain soon.

Can You Go Online?

I am a new subscriber to DSL and I am enjoying enjoying it so far, until recently. The connection is so annoying. Blame it on Morakot, he's to blame (is it really a he? so it's real strong, is that right?).

I've read from some blogs that they're experiencing the same. It's good that I can still connect to the internet but it's literally a pain in my ass to wait. I keep on changing my position, going sideways and then on the other side. I have a lot of entrecard drops recently which obliged me to reciprocate. So I had to drop, sit and wait, and stand, and drop, sit and wait..aaahhhh! Glad I was able to beat it and it's quite cooperating. Patience is virtue indeed, try it! ^_^

Wutta? My Mozilla Got Nowhere To Go!

Kidding!

I am puzzled as to what happened. My Firefox no long have the address bar! I tried checking on "View" from the menu bar but there's no option there for an address bar. I find it strange. Checked on customize under the "Toolbar" menu but there's nothing there either. This is what I have on my screen, see the pic below.

I thought I would check on updates, and there, there's available update to 3.5.2. So I upgraded. I ried removing and installing it again and then updated. Nothing happens. It's still the same. Any help out here??? Please .....

Farewell Our President, Our Hero

The nation mourns for it's beloved president, former President Corazon C. Aquino. She passed away at the age of 76.

"Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m. (19:18 GMT Friday) of cardio-respiratory arrest," her son, Senator Benigno Aquino III, told reporters in Manila.

President Aquino was hospitalized in early July. She was downed by complications of colon cancer and was admitted to Makati Medical Center. She had been battling the disease for more than a year now since March 2008 when her condition was initially diagnosed. She was even informed by her doctors then that she had only three months to live.

A very brave woman that she is, she proved them wrong having lived longer. Her public appearances and public speeches despite her condition proved her strong will. She pursued chemotherapy and her body responded positively but lately, due to complications, she succumbed to cardiopulmonary arrest.

President Aquino would always remain in our heart. She was instrumental in restoring our democracy. She's no doubt the champion of democracy. Being a devout catholic, she would always summon us not to forget to pray. A role model, a mother of our nation, she led our country to a peaceful revolt during the 1986 People Power Revolt and proved to the whole world how great Filipinos are. Her body may leave us but her spirit would always remain. She's not only a role model, a mother, she's a national hero.

Are you ready for Windows 7?

I bet most of you are interested to try or get a copy of the most talked OS of Microsoft, the new Windows 7. To feed your excitement, make sure you have at least the minimum requirements to run Windows 7. Below are the minimum requirements for Windows 7:

Minimum system requirements:

Processor : 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
Memory : 1 GB of system memory
Hard Drive : 16 GB of available disk space
Video card : 128MB memory with support for DirectX 9 graphics
Drive : DVD-R/W drive

This minimum requirements, as per experts, are only for the allowance of files, it is still better to have around 30GB++ but with today’s packages, I don’t think this would be a problem.

Given today’s computer and laptop packages, I don’t think you would have a problem with these specifications. You can probably get a 2GHz processor bundled 2GB memory or higher, I would rather have at least 2GB for the memory. With regard to HDD and Video Card, you can even get 80-160GB paired with 512MB Video Card.

It is always better to have extra allowance for your files. If you are upgrading, 40-80GB HDD and 256MB memory would be fine. Make sure you give more emphasis on the four basics: the Processor, Memory, HDD and the Video Card.

Sony Ericsson Satio also called Idou is at the top of the cellphone brands today, at least on megapixels, offering 12MP.

The picture of the phone is taken from GSMArena. As you can see and it seems bulky. It 12MP autofocus shutter with xenon flash and video LED flash, VGA recording at 30fps, 3.5-inches screen, 360x640 pixel resolution, smile shot, smart contrast, geotagging and it has face and smile detection feature. It's running on a 256MB memory (RAM) , integrated 100MB memory and has a slot for microSD card of up to 16GB. It sure has Wi-Fi, GPS navigation, bluetooth connectivity and has QWERTY keyboard on its screen and it's signature high quality sound and bass and of course it comes with stylus.

New Sony Touch Phone

If you are shopping for a new touch phone with at least the modest specs to date, I think this phone would be one of the best. It's called Sony Ericsson Aino. It is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone with tri-band UMTS/HSDPA support for worldwide roaming. It's touchscreen with 16M color display of WQVGA (432 x 240 pixels) resolution.

As per reviews, it's not totally touchscreen though. There are certain menus you can use with the feature and the camera but not all the way around. Hmmn..anyway it boosts GPS and Wi-Fi as well as FM radio with RDS. Other usual features are onboard i guess like USB and Bluetooth. Another great thing is it's 8MP auto-focus snapper with a LED flash and is said to be integrated with Playstation 3 game console.

I am not really sure how it works as a console since I am not a user of Playstation 3 but according to the website where I got the picture from, the Remote Play feature, initially developed for PSP, enables users to control and access media content on Playstation 3 from their phone.

How I Cope With Password Logon Failure – Part 2

So I decided finally to reformat the whole system, anyway i still won’t be able to access my files even after the OS got installed. I thought it must’ve been because of the previous error that the computer would always turn out the same. I bought a new disc and installed the OS, this time around, I formatted the whole system and created a partition so the OS boots on one drive and my files on the other. I did also created 3 admins, just in case and turned on the “Guest” account. I still encountered the same problem with the password being not accepted but luckily, the other admin got me logged in and I was able to change the password of the other admin. So I got the password changed and when I logged of and switched to the other admin entering the new password, it now allowed me access. Tough XP! I think the new service packs caused it that when something is changed or any new software got installed, it’s gonna mess up the configuration. Am not really too technical so I can’t provide any explanation further how this happened. I am just happy now that I can already use my computer now.

How I Cope With Password Logon Failure – Part 1

It’s been a grueling week for me looking for some solutions for my computer which is not accepting my password. I have to decide whether to reinstall the OS of my computer just so I can re-use it temporarily or reformat the computer. All the techs I talked to about this problem offered the same suggestions: to reinstall the OS or reformat the whole system. Damn! I can now feel how people are terribly frustrated being not able to get back to their files and back it up, it’s too late to do that.

I decided I would reinstall the OS. During the reinstallation, there was an option there to continue installing on top of the OS installed without erasing the data. For a moment I felt there’s hope for me to recover my files. I did install it successfully entering an administrator password anew. I was able to get access to the hard drive but my files cannot be accessed. It won’t authorize my administrator password because it’s from it would recognize as another user. I was able to install the drivers and other programs and you know what? After installing the drivers, the computer would normally prompt you to restart so I did restart after installing the other programs. The computer restarted and it’s booting to the logon screen now asking for my password. Now what, it won’t accept my new password? The f***! I just went through all the installation process and it’s the second time around rebooting and now it won’t recognize the password which it accepted earlier…damn!

So I went through all the process again. Reinstalled the OS and again, on top of all the other XP Professional that’s been installed, so this makes it the 3rd XP Pro. Did the same process again and installed the drivers. This time around, before I even restarted, I assigned another administrator user so just in case it won’t accept my admin password, there’s another admin logon I could use. As expected, it accepts the password for a few logon but after like 3-4 reboot, it won’t accept the first admin password any longer. So I turned to the other admin. It went well for a few reboots but got the same problem again. Luckily, I decided to turn on the “Guest” account which allowed me access, but still not with my files in there though.

I was so distressed that my computer failed to log me on. It’s running on Windows XP Pro. I’ve been using it for a long time and got almost all my files on the hard disk. I have no password reset disc either and there was no partition so it’s helpless. It won’t take any of the passwords I can possibly think of.

So I searched for articles online about possibly overriding the password or anything similar. I came across few sites about it including the password article in the support site of Microsoft, followed their recommendations but nothing prevailed. I even chatted online with Microsoft since DELL is of no help. It’s a good thing I have another computer which I seldom use, not that it’s a junkie but it’s thriven by viruses. Thanks to AVG Free Edition, I was able to sort it out. So the computer is now working (must be feeling the attention now, lol) but still am bored, my data files are on the other pc and the game files too.

Am still waiting for a response from some local techs here so I’ll have to put my plans on hold about this pc yet.

Every year, we experience a change in time. These impacts our daily transactions from the global perspective down to our household activities. In my country, the Philippines, we don't observe DST, however for the benefit of our friends around the world, they will start turning back the time for an hour, or add but it is different in some other parts of the world.

For most of the countries like some locations in the Russian Federation, Iran, Israel, Gaza and others; they will observe one-hour in advance. Of all countries, Israel got the most complex changes because of the many traditions that has to be observed. It's finally my day-off! No class, no work only thanks to GOD!

I finally have my rest day after almost a year of trying! If it's not because VL's won't be paid, I am not sure if I can afford myself of a great day like today, I can do whatever I wanted with my time; eat, sleep, internet surfing, computer games, whatever... or go swimming. In fact, I just arrived to reflex my fingers as well.. hmmn... don't ever think of it..lol.

It's been 2- 3 months i guess since the last time i visited Abellana, hehehe... it's cheap there :) After my first 2 laps, I can already feel the strain in my leg.. wtf! I thought I would stop and maybe I had to exercise my muscles for a bit, i decided. There are few girls in the entrance and am not comfortable with my bod right now showing some beer flabs so I thought I'd stay and try some 2-3 laps and if it persists then I would eventually stop.

So there I was, did some 2-3 laps, stopped and tried to check my exercise my leg jumped on the water and then stand up on one foot, right, left and right then I realized I was relieved.

It was just a sore from being absent for so long a time. I was able to comple my regular 20 laps by 50meters, you see, am not really swimming hard but that should be enough for now. One thing I like about swimming is that you don't have to be a pro to reap its benefits, if you can swim then you're good to go. I am not really a pro, not a noob either but I can swim like a pro. Unlike other sports, swimming exercises your whole body with very little joint strain. Swimming is not a good one for those aiming to lose pounds though. You might be burning the same calories in swimming but it's cooling effect does not help. When you are running or cycling, you continually use calorie for as long as 18 hours after the workout because in swimming you don't heat as much as you do when compared to land exercises. Naruto Manga 436 - "PEACE"

In the previous chapter, Pain captured Naruto and is now under his control. Naruto got stucked with Pain's power that he's not even able to defend the old toad.

Both have something in common. They both want peace. But Pain's way of achieving peace is far more complicated and delusional. He wanted to gather the Kyuubi's Power in order to gain control of the disastrous power far beyond imagination.

As he goes on with his rants, it was revealed to Naruto how he came up with his idea of achieving peace. How in the world would someone build peace through chaos and destruction?

His way of achieving means a lot of sacrifices in order to annihilate the opposing force, thereby achieving peace, in a sense that no one would ever dare to oppose him who would bear the ultimate power, with his belief that all the wounds would eventually heal in time. Peace out of revenge, revenge for his people and homeland, being always in the center of war from opposing nations thereby turning his home into a wasteland bearing the curse of war.

While Naruto keeps Pain's attention at his rants, Inoichi has come up with a plan to look for the one controlling the Pain confronting Naruto. He is convinced that these are just puppets being controlled by someone nearby through the chakra flowing through the chakra transmitters in their body. Inoichi's telephatic ability convinced him that another Akatsuki is in control in a not so distant location. True enough, at the end you will see that Nagato is there channeling his chakra and as if he is speaking to Naruto through Pain in the battlefield.

In the next episode, would it turn out Nagato is the real Pain? Let's all find out next week!

SONY-Ericsson respawned!

Multimedia Phone I've been a fan of Sony-Ericsson phones until lately. I frequented their website for updates because I was planning to buy a new phone, that was December. It felt like a dry season to hop on their stores. I cannot find any new phone that captures my interest. The Xperia has been getting good reviews but I don't like the style. Specs-wise, it seems comparable to other brands but I am still craving for more, hmmnn.... I really don't have much to spend but I guess I could afford if I'm tempted, of course I want the most specs to compensate every peso spent, :).

So I thought maybe it's not the right time. When they rolled out their best phones last year, it took a while before it broke the news. I decided to wait (am patient with technology co'z i know after few months, new upgrades and versions would be available).

When I checked their website today, I was so amazed to see that they are releasing a new multimedia phone, with 12-megapixel camera. Yes, you're reading it right, it's a 12MP snapper with Xenon flash and Touch focus. It's called the Sony Ericsson Idou. Got some few specs courtesy of GSMArena: 3.5"" Touch Screen, 16 million colors, 16:9 aspect ratio (360 x 640 pixels), 3G, Wi-Fi, Symbian OS based on S60 and with GPS. Full specs is currently unavailable.

Transparent Phone by LG

Guys, there a new phone from LG to watch out. It seems like a gimmick but they are launching a transparent phone. Imagine yourself texting while driving.. you can now see the road while texting, :). Nice one.

Specs are currently under wraps so we can't judge it yet but it's sheer beauty seems to undermine the specs or it's usage, hope not. Knowing LG, this brand keeps on breaking the barrier of invention so I am expecting they'd be generous on the specs :).

MWC 2009!

It's another year of surprise and excitement to mobile phone lovers out there. Today we will be expecting brand new phones with high end specs, possibly higher specs or megapixels maybe, faster HSPDA connections and a lot, lot more. The exhibit starts today and will end on the 19th. Watch out for LG, Samsung, SONY or NOKIA brands. I bet there would be new phones who haven't hit online posts/blogs yet. I've been expecting a lot from LG and Samsung, but am not sure about Nokia and Sony-Ericsson. The last time I checked about NOKIA is more like an upgrade of N-Series but the other is playing a surprise, hope there is...so keep yourself posted!

GOP's Senate Wall on a brink of collapse

The GOP is now on a hard stance to keep fighting for the Senate seat in Minnesota. If all else fails, and with single vote from a moderate Republican in the Senate, it's definitely an ultimate democratic rule in the Obama administration.

Democratic Senatorial candidate Al Franken currently leads Republican Norm Coleman in the counting and shows no sign of ending, as of the moment, which is perfectly how GOP would want it to happen. News are out that the NRSC held a fundraiser for Coleman to help him raise the money in order to sustain the momentum.

No matter what it takes, how long the battle could possibly be extended, the GOP would fight 'til the end. They wouldn't want it that the Dems would have total control of the Senate as well, leaving them useless in the end and with Pres. Obama's change in tune about bipartisan policies, they would eventually turn out as simply an opposition without force. Check and balance wouldn't matter in the Obama administration since it is clear that they are wanting to get rid of the GOP in the table as much as possible.

On the other hand, it would still be good to let the voice of the GOP be heard considering their stand on issues, after all you can never paint the map entirely blue.
